Autism now affects 1 of every 44 children born. Autism is the fastest growing developmental disorder impacting children, yet it is the most underfunded when it comes to individual care.

That’s why we are here.

Founded in 2016, the Louisiana Coalition for Access to Autism Services exists to remove barriers to timely access to evidence-based treatment and sustainable community-based services. We seek to benefit those affected by autism spectrum disorders by advocating for greater access and sustainable funding models for autism services.

Our Mission

Our mission is to dramatically improve access to autism benefits and services throughout the state of Louisiana through advocacy and education.

Many studies confirm that Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is effective in increasing communication, teaching new skills, learning social behaviors and reducing problem behaviors. Studies also indicate that early and intensive intervention of ABA can increase the chance of improvements in development and reduce the need for special services.

Given that one of every 59 children is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, access to ABA therapy services are needed more than ever. These services can significantly improve the lives of individuals with autism and their families, but access to ABA therapy remains limited throughout Louisiana. It is vital that we support our families by ensuring access to the critical services they need.
